David has over 30 years’ experience of energy and facilities management environments working with a diverse portfolio of clients and sites throughout the UK, including 13 years at the Energy Services Company (ESCO), AHS Emstar, where he developed a firm understanding of the energy management industry in both operational and commercial roles.

Whilst working for technology leader ABB, David developed a collaborative relationship with Land Securities key to which was the deployment of an innovative maintenance approach using techniques based on equipment criticality and a unique process to measure customer satisfaction to tackle core customer objectives.

David led several successful outsourcing opportunities whilst with the FM giant, Mitie, most notably at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports where solutions were developed that addressed the customer’s priorities around passenger movement and potential disruptions from maintenance activities along with a ‘true’ open book commercial model.

Most recently, with JCA Engineering, David spent 2½ years developing the company’s technical maintenance offering and was instrumental in doubling the company’s turnover. The cornerstone of this growth was a £4.5m pa hard services contract with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where an open collaborative model was developed involving all key stake holders.

Efficient, effective outsourcing and resourcing is an economic and financial imperative in any organisation that uses this strategy to manage non-core activity, and is also key for any organisation working towards Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
