Peter’s career progressed and he became Facilities Manager responsible for the overall utility and maintenance functions for three UK manufacturing sites. This required a detailed understanding of all the processes used in manufacturing and test plant operation. The latter part of this was to successfully set up a new manufacturing site to replace an old mill building and deal with the transfer of operations to this new site.

The role also included responsibility for validating all utility invoices for three manufacturing sites, negotiating electricity and gas supply contracts achieving savings of approximately £50,000 per annum for several years.

Peter also established health and safety systems and an environmental management system gaining accreditation to ISO14001. Further training towards higher membership grades of IEMA is currently being undertaken.

As a Consultant at JRP Solutions, Peter uses his extensive experience and knowledge to provide project support and energy and utilities advice for a number of businesses from within the heavy engineering and food and drink sectors. He believes that a detailed level of understanding of customer processes is essential to providing service.
