Environment Agency urges prompt action regarding ESOS

The Environment Agency has written to organisations qualifying for ESOS to prompt them to take action now to comply rather than waiting until nearer the deadline.

Whilst the number of lead assessors has risen from approximately 150 when the scheme was introduced last summer to an estimated 700 now, there is still concern that some organisations may be leaving it until the last minute, risking fines for late and incomplete submission of audit information.

The Environment Agency has also issued a 2nd ESOS newsletter this month along with updated guidance on ESOS, a number of useful documents and a clarification regarding eligibility for higher education establishments.
