Facilities management contracts look set to be dumped from the revamped private finance initiative (PFI) to be announced today in the chancellor’s autumn statement.
Chancellor George Osborne will make his statement this afternoon on government finances which media reports have speculated will include details of the new Private Finance 2 (PF2) scheme.
Among the changes is an expected end to long-term tie-in deals for FM and the public sector client – to be a minor equity stakeholder in the project – will be free to go to the market for facilities providers”
