Summary

JRP has provided energy-related technical training for this client over several years following which they requested JRP’s support to provide a gap analysis, business case and strategic plan for the implementation of a holistic behaviour change programme. 

Results

The gap analysis identified 9 potential areas of behaviour change interventions (actions) that could be implemented as follows:

• Policy
• Roles and responsibilities
• Energy management team (EMT)
• Data and analysis
• Energy conservation measures (ECMs)
• Training and awareness
• Purchasing and design
• Targets and objectives
• Communications

The results of the gap analysis were fed into a spider chart to visually demonstrate the comparative strengths and weaknesses of the existing situation. This showed that whilst the existing ISO 50001 system was working well generally, significant behaviour change opportunities to optimise energy savings through people still existed.
