Climate Change Agreements (CCA) support
A Climate Change Agreement (CCA) is a voluntary UK government scheme that allows energy‑intensive organisations to receive a discount on the Climate Change Levy (CCL) in exchange for meeting agreed energy‑efficiency or carbon‑reduction targets.
Proud to have worked with:
CCA benefits and cost savings
In practice, a CCA provides:
- Up to 92% discount on the CCL for electricity
- Up to 89% discount on the CCL for gas
- A formal framework for setting and reporting energy‑efficiency targets
- A structured compliance process overseen by sector associations and the Environment Agency
It is both a regulatory mechanism and a financial incentive to reduce energy use.
Agreement participants can save significant energy costs, typically in the £100,000 plus per year range.
CCA regulation is complex and involves significant administration and technical complexity.
CCA compliance involves:
- eligibility assessments
- target‑setting
- baseline calculations
- evidence packs
- annual reporting
- performance reconciliation
- audit readiness
