Summary
Greencore, a major UK convenience foods manufacturer operating 35 sites and using more than 450,000,000 kWh of energy annually, engaged JRP Solutions to undertake comprehensive energy audits and ensure ESOS compliance. The project reviewed existing practices and data systems, analysed energy performance, audited 15 sites including transport, and identified more than 100 improvement opportunities and projects across the estate.
Results
- Appointment of a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive low-cost actions
- Installation of a new MM&T system for consistent energy reporting
- Further development of CAPEX and renewable projects including solar PV
- Many opportunities already implemented, with full delivery expected to deliver an 18% reduction in energy use, over £6m annual savings, and a 15,000 tCO2e emissions reduction.
