Summary
The client is one of the world's leading mobile communications providers with thousands of sites in the UK and is a major energy user. The sites include offices, retail stores, data centres, cell towers and network sites.
Scope
JRP Solutions was commissioned to audit 13 representative sites - 3 office premises at the company headquarters and 10 networks sites – in order to identify opportunities to improve energy performance.
The objective was to determine potential energy savings, through detailed site energy surveys and subsequent investigations.
In addition, detailed data analysis including benchmarking was undertaken and was summarised in individual site reports.
Results
The audits gave the client a complete picture of where savings could be made and enabled them to produce an improvement plan with prioritised list of projects which in total would yield annual savings of c. £1.0m. Work started immediately to begin implementing the energy savings identified.
