Since 1998, this client has invested over £3bn in the UK Higher Education Sector and provided housing to over 400,000 students It has over 36,000 rooms in operation or under construction through long-term, partnerships with 15 world-leading universities.
The client was keen to achieve Energy Management Standard ISO 50001 accreditation and saw energy monitoring and targeting (M&T) as an integral part of meeting this standard
M&T software needed to meet the following requirements:
- Be user friendly and intuitive to use with a good user interface
- Have different user levels (high level dashboards, basic local users & admin users)
- Be web based and remote hosted
- Be quick to load and display reports
- Interface with several BMS systems to include Trend, Priva (Delta), Honeywell & Schneider systems
- Allow input of manual meter readings and have methods for validating the readings
- Conduct data and invoice validation
- Produce benchmark data for different buildings(kWh/room/year)
- Set and monitor targets
- Accept historical data
- Conduct data profile analysis including degree-day analysis
- Include profile and threat hold alarms with email alarm functionality
- Have the ability to grow and adapt with changes in the client’s requirements
