Net Zero Gap Analysis, Roadmap and Strategy

Summary

NHS BT was seeking assistance in the development of a Net Zero strategy that would enable it to meet the objectives of the NHS’s Long-Term Plan outlined in the document ‘Delivering a Net Zero National Health Service’ which sets out the direction, scale and pace of change required for the NHS to be the first Net Zero health service globally.

Approach

JRP Solutions worked with NHS BT to develop a Programme Charter which agreed the critical success factors, timeframes, targets, roles and responsibilities for achieving Net Zero.

Using the Programme Charter as point of reference throughout, we completed a Net Zero Gap Analysis to identify the key improvements and opportunities, establishing NHS BT’s emissions boundaries and data inventory.

This provided the basis for jointly developing the Net Zero Roadmap and strategy.

Results

A strategy and action plan was developed for NHS BT, to align with the NHS overall strategy, which focussed on prioritised action plan recommendations. The report delivered a clear, tailored Net Zero plan that will provide the framework for NHS BT’s own journey to reach Net Zero in line with the NHS’s national plan.
